A LLANELLI man was found dead on his sofa after committing suicide, an inquest has heard.

Richard Paul Evans, 32, was found dead on October 26 last year at his home on New Road, Dafen.

At his inquest on Friday at Llanelli Town Hall, Carmarthenshire coroner Mark Layton said a postmortem done the following day at Glangwili Hospital revealed Mr Evans had "fatal blood concentration of morphine compounded by the presence of benzodiazepines".

He said: "A note was found with suicidal intent.

"Based on the information before me, the level of drugs found in Mr Evans's system and the surrounding evidence, I have to consider a verdict of suicide. That's the verdict I return — that Richard Paul Evans killed himself."
