Society's sticker campaign
MEMBERS of Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg (Welsh Language Society) have launched a sticker campaign in Llandeilo, Carmarthen and Tanerdy
It follows a meeting with First Minister Carwyn Jones and a rally in Carmarthen where hundreds signed a pledge noting their desire to live through the medium of Welsh.
Hundreds turned out for the rally in Carmarthen and rallies across Wales after census results showed the number of Welsh-speakers in Carmarthen- shire and Ceredigion have fallen.
According to the campaigners, Carwyn Jones needs to draw up new policies based on Cymdeithas yr Iaith's 'Maniffesto Byw' (Living Manifesto) and implement them by the end of the year.

In its Maniffesto Byw, the group outlines 26 recom- mendations to strengthen the language, such as transforming the planning system in order to tackle the challenges of out-migration and in-migration; an education system where every child leaves school completely fluent in Welsh; quadrupling the investment in the language; and measuring the language impact of all Government spending.
Robin Farrar, chairman of the organisation, said: "We had a constructive meeting with Carwyn Jones on February 6 and are pleased that he has recognised that urgent action is needed. He has agreed to respond to the 26 recommend- ations in our Maniffesto Byw in full by June 6, and has agreed to meet us again.
"Our message now is 'Dwi eisiau byw yn Gymraeg, gweithredwch!'" ('I want to live in Welsh, act now!')
