WEATHER forecasters are predicting the cold chill is here to stay for now.

According to The Met Office it will be another chilly evening.

Its forecast states that it will be a cold night with a hard frost and some ice.

There will be a few snow showers feeding in on the brisk northerly wind, becoming more widespread through the early hours. The minimum temperature will be -2 degrees C.

For tomorrow it will be another icy start, then a mix of sunny spells and snow showers, mainly falling as snow inland, but a mix of rain and sleet near the coast.

The maximum temperature will be 6  degrees C.

Thursday is expected to be dry, but clouding over from the west.
