Snow puts route out of commission
MOTORISTS driving on a Swansea mountain road ran into difficulty when a snow drift made the route all but impassable.
The back road to Ammanford, over Mynydd y Betws, was blocked yesterday morning with farmers in the area complaining they could not transport their sheep.
The powdery substance fell at Penlle'r Castell, in Lord Mayor Ioan Richard's ward of Mawr.
He said: "It's always a bit of a dodgy place for cold weather so I would advise a bit of judgement here.
"The council will put extra grit down up there."
