Where The Snooty Fox, Cross Hands, near Narberth, just off the main road from Oakwood on the road to Martletwy.

What's it like? The pub is a relatively new venture that celebrated its anniversary this month. It's situated just off the main road and has ample off-road parking, including caravanning facilities for those who want to enjoy a few drinks safe in the knowledge they won't have to drive. The Snooty Fox is a perfect place to while away a few hours, with friendly staff and a great range of drinks. It has also quickly become a focal point for the local community, with regular music nights and charity fund-raising events. Its continuing popularity is bolstered by visitors to nearby Bluestone discovering this hidden gem.

Atmosphere? Despite its unprepossessing exterior, the Snooty Fox is a great little pub, with a lively family friendly atmosphere, popular with locals and visitors alike. As it's a new build, the pub is constantly evolving, with a new games room providing entertainment for the young at heart, complete with a pool table and a 1950s-style Wurlitzer jukebox. There's also a truly cavernous function room at the back of the pub just nearing completion, which promises to be a popular venue for functions such as weddings, parties and music nights. The Snooty Fox currently runs fortnightly jazz nights on a Wednesday evening, and the owners are planning to hold many other music nights to complement their existing charity fund-raising events.

Decor? The Snooty Fox started life as a number of agricultural buildings, but has been recreated as a cheery, homely pub, with ample seating inside and out. Outdoors on a sunny evening is the best way to enjoy the pub — sampling a guest beer while watching the sun set over the beautiful vista afforded by the nearby Preseli mountains. And if you're at the right time, you can hear the excitement of the crowds at nearby Oakwood.

Food? The pub serves good, honest pub fare, but a new chef is expanding the menu with a range of specials.

Beer? There is a good range of beer with evergreen staples Worthington and Carling making up the bulk of the sales. There are also two guest beers available at any time, with Hobgoblin and Evan Evans' Cwrw currently enjoying pride of place. There's also a good range of soft drinks for drivers.

Can I take the kids? Children are welcome. There are always kids' meals available, and there's plenty for them to do, whether enjoying the outdoor play area, complete with a slide, or making friends with the ponies grazing in the adjoining field.

Disabled access? Yes, the Snooty Fox is very disabled-friendly, with the ample car park leading to a ramp to the front door.

While you're there? There's plenty to do on the Snooty Fox's doorstep. Oakwood and Canaston Bowl are a matter of minutes away.
