Snooker hall may beclosed
IT looks like being frame over for the snooker hall in Pontardawe Arts Centre.
Neath Port Talbot Council is proposing to close it and use the space as a studio and for training or conferences.
At the height of the sport's popularity, the five tables in the snooker hall generated £24,000 a year. But that has fallen to just £2,000.
Similarly, the number of people using the tables has dwindled, from a peak of 18,200 to just 1,600.

The council said the number of people taking part in classes had increased but they had to use a small studio, limiting numbers.
A recommendation to approve the change of use is expected to be approved by economic and community regeneration cabinet board members on Thursday.
