Bank customers are begin urged to be vigilant after a "skimming" device was found on a cash machine. The device was seized from the ATM at the Co-op Pioneer store in Lampeter on Wednesday, and is currently being examined by police.

Skimming involves attaching a small device to a cash machine that can read and record  the data on the magnetic strip on bank cards — his information can be used by criminals to clone cards and commit fraud.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: "Always remain vigilant when using your bank or credit cards."If you believe a cash point has been tampered with please report it to the police or bank immediately."
