LEONARD Cohen has never stinted on quality as far as his backing singers are concerned, and The Webb Sisters are his most recent, photogenic crew.

The pair joined him on his first tour in 15 years, which kicked off in 2008, and you may have seen them on the Leonard Cohen Live in London DVD.

But they will bring their own material to Pontardawe Arts Centre today, with gentle rhythms, close harmonies, multi instrumentation and low-key folk and pop sensibilities.

Hattie and Charley played the harp, mandolin, guitar, clarinet and piano from an early age, and they were giving regular recitals at charity functions and parties in their teens.

These days the pair have three albums under their belts, with some of their video work done by Cohen's daughter Lorca, and with last year's disc, Savages, produced by Peter Asher, from 1960s folkies Peter and Gordon.

They have cropped up too on The Sharon Osbourne Show, on tracks by Natalie Maines and Sting, and on live shows by Jamie Cullum, Katie Melua and James Morrison of late. They also cut Fortune Of Soldiers for a Judy Collins tribute album Born To Breed a couple of years back.

Tonight's show gets started at 7.30pm.
