THE sister of a missing teenager has made a desperate plea for her to get in touch.

Seventeen-year-old Sophie O’Connor, who is originally from Port Talbot but was living in the Neath Valley, has not been seen since last Thursday.

It is believed she may have left the South Wales area and could be in Bristol or Dorset.

Her sister Charlotte O’Connor said the family was concerned for her safety and urged Sophie, who has run away before, to come home or at least let them know she is safe and well.

The teenager was reported missing from her Resolven home last Thursday and was last seen in the town centre at 2pm the same day.

Charlotte said: “This isn’t the first time she has run away. She disappears all the time.

“But we are concerned for her safety because we haven’t heard from her at all.

“If she reads this, we want her to know that the family loves her, we are thinking of her and we just want her to come home.”

Sophie is described as being 5ft 2in tall, thin, with a pale complexion, long dark hair and wearing thin, brown Bench-make glasses.

She was wearing Bench dark denim jeans with turn-ups, new Nike trainers, a white top and a navy Adidas zip-up hooded top. She was carrying a black leather bag with gold chains.

Sophie has links with the Bristol area and may have visited Weymouth.

“We are fairly certain she is in Bristol but we cannot be certain,” added Charlotte.

“If nothing else, we would ask her to get in touch with us just to let us know she is safe and well.”

Anyone who has seen or heard from Sophie is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
