NEWCASTLE United defender Danny Simpson reckons Sunderland got lucky in Sunday's Wear-Tyne derby draw.

The Black Cats scrambled a point late on thanks to Demba Ba's own goal.

"I thought we were going to do it," said right-back Simpson.

"It gets to the point in a game when you do not think you are going to concede. You feel quite comfortable. Everybody seems to be doing their jobs and playing together.
