Simon Easterby urges Scarlets to create Christmas momentum with Exeter win
SIMON Easterby has urged his Scarlets side to build momentum for the busy Christmas period with a win at Exeter tomorrow (3.40pm).
The Llanelli region are effectively out of the Heineken Cup having lost their first three matches in Pool 5, but they are in strong contention for a play-off place in the RaboDirect Pro12.

Exeter have won six of their seven home matches this season but, having claimed four away wins so far this term, Easterby is confident his Scarlets players can triumph at Sandy Park.
"I think getting some momentum into those games is vital," he said.

"We can't look too far back in the Heineken Cup this year. We've lost three and that's the fact.
"If we can gain some momentum in the league, that looks like our best opportunity to win some silverware this year.
"After the Exeter game, we have to really focus on getting as many points as we can in the Pro12 to consolidate our position in the top two. That's got to be a massive focus for us, and that starts for us in Exeter."
This weekend's trip to Sandy Park will be the first of five consecutive away fixtures for the Scarlets, with journeys to the Blues, Ospreys, Ulster and Leinster to follow.
But having beaten the likes of Munster and Glasgow at their own grounds this season, Easterby is optimistic about his side's chances.
"It's setting us up nicely to go away, knowing that we've got three away games coming up as well," he said. "We've been good on the road this year. Exeter do have a good home record but they have lost there as well this year. It's not beyond us to go there, get a result and bring some momentum back into the season for what will be a busy few weeks."
