HOMEOWNERS in Swansea are being urged to act now if they want to vote in the Police and Crime Commissioner elections.

Thousands of residents who still have not sorted out their electoral registration forms are being asked to do so to take part in the November poll.

More than 110,000 electoral registration forms dropped through letter boxes this summer across the city.

Most people have responded but a total of 41,433 householders still have not returned their forms or confirmed their details online or over the phone. People need to make sure their information is up to date.

Registering to vote is also key as credit rating companies rely on the register to check if a person seeking credit lives at the property.

Kyle Davies, electoral services team leader, said: "Registering to vote is very simple."

Anyone wishing to do so should call 01792 636123 or www.swansea.gov.uk/ elections
