Shops in UK scam warning
STORES in Kidwelly have been warned of a telephone cash scam in the area.
Sergeant Heulwen Aston told a town council meeting that store holders had been notified of the UKash scam, which sees residents receive a phone call informing they are entitled to a tax rebate.
Sergeant Aston said: "They are informed that once they have paid an admin fee that can amount to hundreds via UKash. When the first voucher is bought they will say they have re-evaluated the sum and have discovered that they are entitled to more.
"They have to pay a further admin fee, which they do, that is cashed overseas by fraudsters and the trail will run cold."
