Search and rescue teams comb Gower shoreline for missing pensioner
AN extensive sea search has been carried out off the coast of Gower for missing Swansea pensioner Anita Jackson.
The 71-year-old, of Uplands, has not been since Monday.
Horton and Port Eynon inshore lifeboat crew, in conjunction with coastguards and an RAF search and rescue helicopter, searched the area between Port Eynon and Worm's Head.
Lifeboat helmsman Andy Rogers said the wind was very strong.
"The sea conditions were choppy and the breaking waves made a search near the shoreline difficult," he said.
"During the search there was also very heavy rain which significantly reduced visibility.”
No sign of Mrs Jackson was found.
South Wales Police said she was last seen in Dunvant, and that she has connections to Horton and Rhossili.
She is 5ft 4in tall, and with silvery-grey curly hair.
