Search for man at Aberavon Beach
CONCERNS for the wellbeing of a man sparked a search operation at Aberavon Beach.
Port Talbot RNLI, along with the coastguard, were called into action on New Year's Day at 8.15pm following concern for a man in his 20s.
RNLI spokesman Mel Cooper said it was their first call out of the year.
"We were called at 8.15pm following reports of a person last seen on the rocks at Aberavon Beach," he said. "The lifeboat searched along the shore from the River Afan to River Neath.
