Police say the search for missing a missing Welsh rugby fan from Haverfordwest is continuing.

Ben Thompson from Haverfordwest has not been seen since last Saturday, February 2, the day Wales played Ireland in Cardiff.

The 34-year-old attended the game at the Millennium Stadium and was seen by friends in Mill Lane at around 6.30pm.

CCTV footage shows Ben crossing Leckwith Road into Lawrenny Avenue at 7.17pm on Saturday and images capture him minutes later walking down a lane at the end of Lawrenny Avenue towards wasteland.

Search teams continued their efforts in this area over the weekend particularly the woodlands, the River Ely and the banks of the A4232. Searches have continued throughout Monday.

There have been no further confirmed sightings of Ben since he was seen on CCTV and there has been no activity on his mobile phone.

Chief Inspector Eddie Ough said: “The search is continuing and Ben’s family, who are understandably desperately worried, are being updated on progress of the search by family liaison officers.”

Ben is described as 5ft 9in tall, with short brown hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing brown leather lace-up boots, blue jeans, and a white shirt with blue thin stripes.

Anyone who has seen him or has any information which may assist is asked to contact the Command Room at Cardiff Bay Police Station on 02920 338 465.

“He knew where he was going, he was running on the CCTV footage not walking.”
