Schools cook up Olympic lunches
PUPILS in the upper Swansea Valley will dine out in Olympic style next month.
Lunch menus designed to celebrate the summer games in London are to be served in primary and secondary schools across Powys from May 21 to 25.
Each menu will have its own unique theme celebrating the Olympics, starting with American Day, which recognises the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, and ending on the Friday with British Day for the London 2012 Olympics.

Delyth Jones, Powys Council's principal catering manager, said: "The Olympics is a global icon and sporting extravaganza so it is only right we embrace this once in a lifetime opportunity.
"We have produced this special menu for this occasion and we hope pupils will enjoy what we produce throughout the week."
The two-course menu at primary and secondary schools during the week will follow the exiting round the world menu, with each day having a nation name and flavour, and based on previous Olympic destinations.
They include a Greek, Chinese and Australian day.
