School set for housing
OUTLINE planning permission has been granted for housing to replace the former primary school in Ystradowen.
Carmarthenshire Council's planning committee has approved outline plans from its corporate property section for around 12 three- bedroom houses at the site.
A planning officers' report said: "The existing school building has stood at this site for a number of years and will have been used in one form or another by many of the residents of the area.

A number of conditions have been included as part of the planning consent.
The council must transfer £15,840 to its education department and £26,356 must be set aside for parks and open spaces. Three of the 12 houses must be affordable dwellings
