A MINIBUS used for a school run has had every window smashed in a night-time attack.

The white Ford Transit van was parked in Manor Road in Manselton when it was targeted at around 9.40pm on Tuesday.

Police said a silver car, possibly a Honda Accord, was seen to drive away from the scene. Officers are appealing for information.

The vehicle is owned by city firm M & J Travel and was parked overnight close to an employee's house.

M & J Travel director Neil Griffiths said replacing the glass would cost well over £5,000.

The vehicle was insured, he said.

Mr Griffiths said the minibus was used to take pupils to and from YGG Bryn Tawe in Penlan.

He said no other vehicle on the street had been touched, and that his vehicles had not been vandalised before.

He said he had no idea why his minibus had been targeted.

"I don't know why they have done it," said Mr Griffiths.

"It's a bit of a disappointment."

"I can't think of any reason whatsoever why someone would do this. It's nothing to do with me."

He said he has been told that a silver Honda car had been driven away soon after the incident.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Officers were called to Manor Road, Manselton, at about 9.40pm on Tuesday, September 25, following reports that all the windows of a white Ford Transit van had been smashed.

"A silver-coloured vehicle was later seen to drive away from the scene, possibly a Honda make."

If you can help, phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

“Has he thought that local residents are fed up with having nowhere to park. His buses are never in a lock up but parked around Manselton. Smashing windows is wrong but people get fed up. Park elsewhere”
