THE Scarlets are in talks to try to bring Scotland international Sean Lamont to Llanelli.

The 37-cap wing has been discussing a possible switch to Parc y Scarlets from European Challenge Cup finalists Northampton Saints, it has emerged.

Lamont is out of contract at Franklin's Gardens at the end of the season, but was widely tipped to follow his brother Rory in the growing exodus to the French Top 14.

However, after Lamont's expected move to Brive broke down, the Scarlets, who are desperate to revitalise their squad for next season, stepped in.
