YOUNG people in Llanelli are being given the chance to gain experience and qualifications in rugby thanks to a new course.

The five-day course called Get Started with Rugby has been launched by youth charity The Prince's Trust and Llanelli Scarlets RFC.

It will take place at Parc y Scarlets from March 18 to March 22.

The course programme has been designed to help young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are not working gain the skills, confidence and motivation to find a job.

Those taking part will gain a range of skills including coaching skills, communication and teamwork.

A taster day to find out more about the course is taking place on Wednesday, March 13, at Parc y Scarlets.

Gerry O'Sullivan, manager of the Get Started programme in Wales, said: "Get Started with Rugby gives young unemployed people a fantastic opportunity to get into the world of work."
