Scarlets confident Snyman will be final piece in the jigsaw
SIMON Easterby believes the addition of a third South African forward to his Scarlets squad will help them challenge Europe's leading clubs over the coming years.
Easterby (inset) has fitted the final piece into his recruitment jigsaw by landing 26-year-old second row Joe Snyman from Eastern Province Kings.
The Scarlets say Snyman, who has penned a three-year deal, is due to arrive in Llanelli in the coming month and will join compatriots George Earle — who made his Pro12 debut against Leinster on Saturday — and Golden Lions prop Jacobie Adriaanse at the West Wales region.
The capture of the former South Africa Under-19 international will be the Scarlets' seventh signing of a busy close season and adds depth to a second-row pool that has already been boosted by the signing of Argentina lock Tomas Vallejos, Welsh-qualified Aussie Jake Ball and former Osprey Richard Kelly, who has joined feeder club Carmarthen Quins.

"This is another key signing for us and we're delighted to have secured Joe to join us at Parc y Scarlets.
"We made a commitment last season to recruit in key areas and with our new signings we are also mindful of the impact they will have on the development of players we have coming up through our system.
"It also adds to the healthy level of competition within our squad, which will further drive and motivate performance across the squad. Different experiences and input from players in the southern hemisphere can only have a positive impact and add to the energy here."
With the European champions Leinster and French Top 14 leaders Clermont Auvergne in their European pool in this season's competition, the Scarlets will hope the addition of extra bulk up front can help them unleash an
