Have Your Say: No legal right for parking
NICOLA Hawkins complains that she can not park her car on the grass verge at Station Road, Fforestfach because the city council has put "bollards" at the kerbside, and she has had two cars written off in just five weeks (Post, Sept 17). Well the reason why the council had put bollards on the grass verge is to stop people like her driving their cars across the grass verge and over the kerbside.
People who do this are causing a lot of damage to the grass verges that other ratepayers have to pay to put right. Surely the fact she has had two cars "written off" should be a warning that you should not park on such a busy road.
There is no legal right for any motorist to park their cars on any public road.
