Have Your Say: A&E changes disappointing
I WAS bitterly disappointed with Labour Health Minister Mark Drakeford on his decision to downgrade Prince Phillip Hospital's A&E department to nurse-led. Llanelli needs to retain a doctor led A&E as Llanelli and district has the largest population in Dyfed/Powys.
This is going to increase the mileage of ambulances as they will have to convey more patients to other hospitals, who already can not cope.
I feel sorry for the nurses and all the staff that are doing their best. We need to bring back the matron to our hospital.
Why should Glangwili, Withybush and Bronglais have full doctor-led A&E.
We need to do away with our health boards and give the matrons the responsibility of running our hospitals.
People in Llanelli need to forget their political parties and work together for the benefit of the people of Llanelli.
