Have Your Say: Welfare must be priority
AFTER reading about the recent round up of horses in Waunarlwydd (Post, Sept 13), I felt I must write as with winter just around the corner my daily journey through Blaen-y-Maes and Portmead is worse than last winter as there are now foals as well horses which roam freely.
My count one day last week was 18 horses, two of which were tethered in peoples gardens.
I'm fed up of some owners saying they take them food and water at certain times of the day. Their right is to have access to food, water and shelter 24 hours a day not when it suits the owner to feed and water. They also need worming and de-fleaing.
If the council pounds are full some of these animals would be better off put to sleep and as an animal lover that is hard to write but there is no quality of life.
Don't let this winter be a copy of last winter which through your newspaper highlighted the issue.
