Have Your Say: Time to get the basics right
WHILE reading some of your many recent articles regarding the problems of dog fouling and littering, I had to have a quiet laugh to myself.
While I applaud the various councils' stance on this annoying problem, it appears that both Swansea and Carmarthenshire councils have sufficient funds to increase the pursuit of offenders but appear to have totally forgotten the basics.
Existing rubbish bins need to be emptied on a regular basis for the public to be able to use them efficiently as many in our area are often overflowing and left full for weeks on end un-emptied.
Despite numerous telephone calls and emails from many of us in the community requesting these bins to be emptied, these request are mostly ignored.
Besides it looking unsightly, it is also unhealthy due to many of these bins containing dog waste which has been deposited by the many responsible members of the public.
