Have Your Say: Park relaunch a real credit
AS one of the many volunteers helping out on Saturday to relaunch Cwmdonkin Park I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who joined me in giving their time to ensure it was such a success.
In particular, I would like to mention the hard work put in by Annie Hayden and the many members of the Friends of Cwmdonkin Park. Without her leadership and the residents putting in many hours, I feel it wouldn't have been nearly as good as it was on the day.
I would also like to convey my thanks to the numerous council officers working to ensure the relaunch went off without a hitch, Nick Bradley as the cabinet member responsible for putting on the event and the council leader, David Phillips, for attending the opening. I spoke to hundreds of people on the day, many of whom stepping foot in the park for the first time, and I can say that most (if not all) reported a pleasurable experience. This is now a facility that's a credit to the local community in Uplands and the whole of Swansea and for that I am truly grateful to all those who pitched in.
