Have Your Say: Help out with charity's choir
HAVING read the Evening Post's many interesting articles on CLIC Sargent workers, volunteers and fund raisers, I felt it would be of interest to introduce your readers to another group linked to CLIC Sargent.
These are the choristers who help to raise funds by singing in the Welsh Hospital's Choir.
Last year the choir celebrated its 30th anniversary and over the 30 years the Christmas concerts, held in St. David's Hall, Cardiff, have raised over £90,000 for CLIC Sargent. This financial support has helped to deliver vital services to children and young people with cancer.
A warm welcome is extended to new choristers to join the West Glamorgan section of the choir.
Rehearsals are held in Singleton Hospital chapel on Wednesday evenings, 7.30pm to 9pm. Our first meeting will be today.
More than 200 men and women from across Mid and South Wales come together, from September to December each year, to prepare for our annual concert. Some weekends, choir members come together for four combined rehearsals with the concert conductor.
This year's Christmas concert will be on Thursday, December 12. Why not share this happy, uplifting evening of music with us? Celebrate Christmas and at the same time support a very worthy cause.
