Have your Say: Follow the lead and ditch humps
WELL done to councillors Warman and Carter of Cimla and the Neath Port Talbot Council for getting rid of a set of the dreaded pink concrete "chopped-off pyramids" and replacing two other sets with user-friendly ones (Post, Oct 4).
At long last a council has acknowledged that the institution of the current ill-designed humps was a mistake.
They were intended to achieve traffic calming but they certainly do not calm the drivers who are unanimously fed-up with the danger and damage to cars they cause.
There would be some justification for them if they worked but they are only effective on the smaller cars, ie, about half the vehicles on the roads!
After all, there are alternative measures available.
If Neath Port Talbot Council has the fortitude to make the changes then Swansea Council can also delight all our drivers by following suit and the sooner the better.
