Have Your Say: Don't out key areas
WITH regard to the 'quiet areas' to be proposed by the city council and our Senedd (Post, August 12), I would also suggest that the Dunvant brickworks pond site and the Cwmllwyd woods area should also be included in the list of 'Havens of Tranquility'.
The brickworks pond area is impressive, delightful for the way in which an area of former industrial dereliction has now become a lovely green wooded area of quiet countryside, ideally situated close to the Clyne Valley cycle path and surrounding communities. Cwmllwyd Woods, to the south of Waunarlwydd, is also accessible from Dunvant brickworks, albeit by some fairly rough footpaths.
While the city council has published a lot of excellent leaflets about rights of ways and access to the countryside around and in Swansea, the open countryside to the south of Waunarlwydd with the impressive ridge of Graig y Blfdan and woodland footpaths around to Dunvant brickworks area etc, seems unfortunately to have been forgotten?
