Have Your Say: Choice of language is key
WHY is it that Welsh language fanatics are so myopically challenged that they cannot see or fail to understand any of the facts presented and freedom of information data from the Assembly?
Congratulations to Mike Stroud's friends in being taught Mandarin Chinese and Russian, both of which are recognised as commercial and internationally accepted languages. They were also taught on a free and voluntary basis with a skill that no doubt served them well when demobbed.
Bilingualism is a very useful if applied and used sensibly, however, what is not readily accepted by language fanatics is the incontrovertible fact that Welsh is not among the internationally recognised languages and it is this very fundamental detail that they cannot or will not see.
The other factors are the millions being allocated to the promotion of Welsh to the detriment of essential public services and the ham handed attempts to force the language on the whole population.
