Have Your Say: Bilingualism is a bonus
I AGREE in many ways in what Mr Stroud has to say regarding multi-lingualism. I was fortunate to be born to a bilingual family and as a result to this day have a good ear and understanding of French, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.
I honestly believe that my bilingual upbringing accentuated my ability to pick up languages not naturally native to Pontardawe.
Bilingualism is a life talent.
I don't apologise for being multi-lingual and the joy it gives me to be able to travel and speak to people in their own tongue, similarly I enjoy speaking Welsh, English and other languages.
People who are threatened by an inability to communicate with others in their native tongue should look at themselves first and judge their own community contribution.
