Have Your Say: Ashamed of town's state
WHEN are councillors going to wake up, get out of their cosy and no doubt clean offices and walk the streets of Neath and see the filth we the public have to put up with on a daily basis.
Just after lunch on Sunday I was in town and was frankly disgusted with the state of the streets and in particular the Croft and the Parade area, an area which thousands of pounds of money had been spent by the council in a makeover not much more than a year ago.
The pavements areas were filthy with what I assume was discarded chewing gum, there were black stains everywhere you looked, the gutters were full of discarded food, cigarette ends, around the new seating area were empty beer cans, I was ashamed of a town which I have lived in all my life.
The annual fair is due in Neath which should bring in many people into the town is this the type of impression we want to leave in their minds when they leave, although we are all aware that the problem on the streets is caused by those who have no thought on where they dropped their rubbish but this is not an excuse for the council to fail to clean the town.
Come on councillors of Neath, wake up get out on the streets and look around you then implement a good cleaning system to bring this town into the 21st Century.
