Have Your Say: Airport needs Wales in name
REFERRING to the debate on what the Cardiff Airport should be called, I personally am against it being simply named Dylan Thomas Airport.
This is Wales, not America, we have enough Americanisation in this country of ours.
My father was a great fan of Dylan Thomas, personally I just don't get him, to me it is a case of "the emperors new cloths".
Do we really want to be known the world over by a "freeloading womaniser" who appear to spend most of his life drinking and in America? And spent very few years of his short life in Wales.
His only "real job" that I can see was as a reporter for the South Wales Evening Post.
But if we must have his name in the title then why can't it be called Wales International Airport Cardiff (Home of Dylan Thomas)?
That way everyone will be happy and know exactly what it is and where it is, but it must surly have to have the words airport and Cardiff Wales!
Keep it Welsh and keep it to the point.
