SCORES of runners dressed head to toe as Father Christmas for a Santa jog in Swansea.

Lord Mayor of Swansea Dennis James was on hand to kick off the event, which aimed to raise cash for the British Heart Foundation.

Festive fundraisers of all ages took part in the 2km event, which began from the city's National Waterfront Museum yesterday.

Fundraising and volunteering manager for the British Heart Foundation Jayne Lewis said the family fun run was a great success.

"It was amazing," she said. "We had a great turnout of around 200 people. We had children all dressed up and Captain Beany got everyone going for the run.

"It was lovely to see all the Santa's happy and cheerful."

Port Talbot fundraiser Captain Beany, who took part in the jog, said he had a great time.

"I was a bit of a chilly bean but it was beantastic," he said.

"It was a full-blown event which everyone enjoyed."

Money from the event will go to the British Heart Foundation's Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
