DANNY Cipriani scored 21 points as the Scarlets lost at Sale in the LV= Cup.
The England fly-half crossed for a try, as well as kicking four penalties and two conversions as the under-strength Scarlets were overpowered by their hosts.
Other tries were scored by Richie Vernon, Charlie Amesbury and Charlie Ingle.
The Scarlets started by far the better of the two sides and swept into a 14-3 lead thanks to tries by Andy Fenby and Gareth Davies, both of which were converted by Owen Williams.
