IT is that time of year again, when pumpkins make a big showing on doorsteps, menus and in windows.
And one Gower farmer will certainly meet the demand of customers this year with a bumper crop of over 4,000 pumpkins.
David Shepherd has been growing the pumpkins since May last year on his farm in Port Eynon.
He cultivates the pumpkins in order to sell them in his fruit and vegetable shop
Mr Shepherd said the quality this year is wonderful due to a warm spring and a long summer.
He said: "We plant the seeds at the end of April/start of May and then we plant them out in the field around June time.
"The quality of the pumpkins are great this year and we are very pleased."
The pumpkins are available from 99p at Shepherds Fruit and Vegetable shop in Gorseinon and also on the Choice is Yours stall in Swansea Market and Newton Road in Mumbles.
