Runner Rees sets new record
CWMAVON runner Martin Rees added another world best to his impressive career tally by smashing the previous Over-60s half-marathon record in Bath today.
Rees, who turned 60 last week, clocked a time of one hour, 11 minutes and 29 seconds, taking a remarkable two minutes and 46 seconds off the previous record of 74:15.
It was Rees's quickest half-marathon for over five years.
The former Swansea and Neath Harrier, now racing in the colours of Les Croupiers, is hoping to break a string of over-60s records this year with a 10K at Atlantic College and a 10-mile at Lampeter on his radar.

"Conditions were great. It was bitterly cold but great for running.
"I was able to get into a good group and I enjoyed the race."
