A RUGBY player accused of punching a rival player during a match has had his case sent to Crown Court.

It is alleged the incident happened during a fight involving several players between Laugharne and Llanelli's Furnace team on April 21.

Zachary Lowther, 23, of Parcmaen Street in Carmarthen, spoke to confirm his name, age and address when he appeared at Carmarthen Magistrates' Court.

The Laugharne player previously denied the charge that he caused grievous bodily harm to flanker Richard Jones.
