Rianne explained: "As a Young Ambassador I was asked to help out as well as have fun at the Paralympic media day held in Wales National Pool Swansea and Swansea University Sports Centre.

"As part of this day, Swansea Stingrays (a local pan-disability swimming club) received a training session delivered by Gary Francis, a Paralympic New Zealand swimming coach. The Stingrays then took part in a mini decathlon facilitated by the Swansea Young Ambassadors.

"My role for the morning was to get involved in the media side of everything; interviewing athletes, coaches, managers and some of the Swansea Stingrays.

"I can't single out a best part of the morning because everything was so enjoyable and eye-opening. All of the athletes were happy to speak to me and my cheeks started hurting mid-morning due to all of the athletes making me laugh so much!

"Towards the end of the day, Luis Fernando Zapien (a Mexican long-distance runner) said 'if I can do it, you can!'.

"I think that this short sentence really emphasised the whole concept of the Olympics and Paralympics and their motto 'inspiring a generation'. Although I am already a Young Ambass- ador in Swansea, it moved me greatly and inspired me to take sport further."
