HELLO everyone and welcome to my blog. Everyone needs somewhere they can go to have a moan, tell people about themselves and just generally write. I have always found writing quite relaxing and interesting. So hopefully I can interest the rest of you with my blog, which will include opinions on Swansea, on travelling, on finding work, music, football and just general discussion.

It just so happens that the starting of this blog coincides with me getting my final degree results. I have had the 19th June circled on my calendar ever since I began my third year at university. Even though the situation is now out of my control the same nervous tension felt before all test or exam results is building before I leave to go to the University. It is however nerves coupled with eager anticipation to finally find out if the last three years has been worth building up a mountain of student debt over.

But on a lighter note I am a month away from beginning my European journey that starts in Barcelona and reaches Zagreb, Budapest, Poland before ending in Amsterdam. I will update this blog periodically as my trip continues.

I will be camping for a period of this journey. Yesterday I bought a 'pop up tent.' Today I will be returning the tent. I don't know whether anyone has one of these seemingly brilliant inventions but after a day I have given up with it. The idea is that when you open its bag the tent pops up into position ready to tie down. Great I thought, as this would avoid me the hassle of putting a tent up manually. To my joy the tent did exactly as was required of it, it shot up in a flash. However the putting away of the tent should be an event on the Krypton Factor. I found myself using my knees to hold the tent down, I was calling for numerous other people to hold this edge and that, and it was a farce. The forces of the springy rods kept pushing back wanting to pop the tent back into position. As I am writing this I can see the tent mocking me in the corner of the room, as the most I could do was sello-tape the thing down to the carry case. It was not expensive my any means and it was not bought in an outdoor store but I really thought I could get it back to at least near the size of the bag. I have plenty of patience and usually persevere till a job is done. But yesterday I was firmly beaten by this monstrous invention. It seems my days of getting wet while erecting a tent in the pouring down rain are not over. I will be resorting to the trusty old army green tent bought about 10 years ago.

I am off on my final drive from Gorseinon to Swansea University now and later I will be either celebrating or drowning my sorrows. Remember drink sensibly South Wales.
