A REPORT that could determine whether Glynneath will get CCTV cameras is due later this month.

Glynneath Town Council has been in talks with Neath Port Talbot Council over the possibility of bringing CCTV to the town centre.

But it was discovered it would cost more than £60,000 just for three cameras, and that was without the cost of maintaining them.

The town council's two county members, Del Morgan and Eddie Jones, said in January that further discussions would take place.

Mr Morgan has now told his town council colleagues that he had spoken to the officer involved.

"He said the report was on its way and he was hoping it would be ready by the end of March," said Mr Morgan. "He was waiting for some final figures."

Various suggestions have been put forward , including cameras that could be used throughout the town.
