Recycling rules don't help
I READ with interest your editorial (Post, August 23) on the refusal of council recycling facilities to take pink bags.
This isn't just happening at Clyne, but at many other centres also, such as Garngoch.
Here one is bombarded at the entrance by hastily drawn notices about what one is not allowed to dump. No mattresses, no laminate flooring, no MDF, no hollow doors, no pink bags, no garden waste unless it has been bagged.
I expect to see a new one every time I visit the site!
Just who are these facilities supposed to serve? Not Joe Public, obviously!
I'm sure most people want to recycle sensibly, wherever possible, but we are not being encouraged to do so by the high-handed antics being adopted by the council at their (our) amenity sites.
