THE Scarlets have announced record season ticket sales for the coming campaign.

The region's bosses have reported a 13.5 per cent increase on the same period last year with more than 4,000 sold ahead of Saturday's Magners League opener against Treviso.

Scarlets commercial director Rupert Moon said: "We've been really encouraged with our sales this summer and there are still time to buy ahead of our first home game (Connacht) on Saturday, September 11.

"So, anyone who hasn't had a chance to have a look at what's on offer come and see us in the ticket office or give us a ring.

"The good news is that we will welcome so many new season ticket holders as our members this season.

"We've worked really hard to engage more with our communities and have had a busy summer out and about and hopefully spread the message about the good things that are happening here and re-ignite some of our lapsed support."

The Scarlets have recently launched a 'refer a friend' scheme which will see season ticket holders receive a £25 voucher to spend at Parc y Scarlets for every person they introduce to the 2010-11 season ticket scheme. The Scarlets package includes an adult ticket for £99, plus a family ticket (two adults and two children) for £199. Under-18 enclosure tickets are £16.

The region have also unveiled a new shirt sponsor, Llanelli-based construction firm Lloyd & Gravell.

The partnership builds on links between the Scarlets and Lloyd & Gravell over the past three seasons, where the company have helped support talented young No. 8 Ben Morgan by offering the player a plumbing apprenticeship after he was made redundant.

"Lloyd & Gravell are a thriving local business that we are proud to be associated with," added Moon.

"The company has its roots firmly fixed in our region and works closely with another of our partners, Coleg Sir Gar, in helping support young people and providing real opportunities for their future careers and professional development.

"We are keen to work with partners that share our goals to be at the heart of our communities and Lloyd & Gravell are shining example of that."
