Rain forces truck show cancellation
THE awful summer weather has caused the organisers to cancel a major show in Carmarthen.
The Wales Truck Show was due to be held this weekend at the Nantyci showground.
Matthew Jenkins, secretary of the show committee, said: "This year's show has been cancelled. This is due to health and safety and logistical issues, brought about by the very wet weather over recent weeks and an extremely poor weather forecast for the week ahead.
"An inspection of the site indicated it would not be possible to run the main ring events without sustained dry weather during the week ahead.

"The poor ground conditions would also have affected truck movements, tradestands and other attractions. The committee would like to thank everyone for their understanding and co-operation."
He said the decision to cancel was taken after much consideration of other options and was not taken lightly.
