KIND-HEARTED staff at Prince Philip Hospital have raised enough cash for a Llanelli youngster with cerebral palsy to own his first bike.

The staff from the hospital's accident and emergency department raised around £860 through a raffle after hearing that 6-year-old Jaydn Goddard-Howe was in need of a specially modified bike so he could cycle with his brothers and sisters.

Jaydn, who also has epilepsy and is visually impaired, was at the hospital to draw the raffle, which included a Marks & Spencer Christmas hamper worth £100, a chocolate hamper and a Scarlets rugby ball signed by the team as prizes.

Margaret Staples, one of the nurses who organised the raffled, said: "We have done really well and the family are thrilled to bits.
