Radio mast approved
A RADIO ham has had the message he was hoping for.
Nigel Williams wanted to put up a shortwave radio mast at Ffrwd Vale in Neath. When Neath Port Talbot planners said no to his request, Mr Williams appealed to the Assembly — and won.
In his report, council planning boss Geoff White said the inspector had considered the mast and antennae to be relatively innocuous in appearance.
Although tall, they would "sit acceptably" against the background of tall trees and the railway embankment.
"As a result the inspector did not agree the structure would be detrimental to the street scene or character of the area," said Mr White.
