Quiet night in Swansea Bay and Carmarthenshire as regions escape storm
MORE signs have emerged suggesting that the Swansea Bay and Carmarthenshire regions have missed the worst of a major storm.
While the media warned Britain to batten down the hatches going into Sunday night and early Monday morning it appears we have got off lightly.
A spokesman for the coast guard, stationed in Mumbles, said: “We had 20mph gusts of wind over night but it has been relatively quiet.
“The forecast was for strong winds but they haven’t materialised. Whether its not going to happen or it just hasn’t hit us yet I don’t know.”
Meanwhile a weather forecast by the MET Office said that winds would ease quickly this morning and heavy rain would give way to scattered showers and sunny intervals.
Maximum temperature will be 14 degrees Celsius.
