Pupils go back in time
IT'S been a hands-on history experience for pupils at Gwyrosydd Primary School.
Members of the West Glamorgan Archive Service provided the school children with the chance to handle original photographs and documents from the 19th Century as part of their project studying rich and poor Victorians.
Katie Millien at the West Glamorgan Archive Service said: "We've been running for three years now and growing more and more. We offer a range of hands on classes for primary school children aged three to 11.
"The kids get a real experience to see what a Swansea slum was like in 1850 and Carmarthen Castle too through old original pictures, local documents and maps of the Glamorgan area.
"Children really respond to the chance to look at these pieces — they are able to handle something really old, which they are usually told are to precious for them to touch. It really brings history to life for children and that's our main aim in what we do."
