PUPILS at a Neath school have gained praise for their worthwhile extra- curricular activities.

Caring Cwrt Sart Community Comprehensive School pupils, Nicole Carling and Alex Wellington, have both received awards for their charitable efforts.

They were presented with their awards by the High Sheriff of West Glamorgan, Susan Waller Thomas, at a ceremony at the Ethos Centre, Swansea.

Both students have worked as volunteers for several charities, such as animal charity PDSA and the British Heart Foundation. Not content with her efforts to date, Nicole is currently organising a fundraising event in support of Maggie's Cancer Charity.
